About Us

The seed of inspiration for Bonny and Blithe was planted back in 2010 when founder, Cathy Hayhurst, was searching for pretty teacups for a Mother's Day afternoon tea.

Disappointed by the bland offerings of the major bone china tableware brands and surprised to find that almost all of them were no longer manufactured in England, she turned to thrift stores, antique and charity shops to fill the void with pretty vintage pieces instead.

This sparked an interest in the many varied makes, patterns and shapes she came across in her search and was the start of her personal collection.

As that collection grew (and grew and grew) she began selling some pieces to make space for others and in 2014 Bonny and Blithe was launched to share her passion for pretty English bone china tea wares with others around the world.

In 2021 she realised her long held dream and launched the Princess collection of fine English bone china teacup sets, designed exclusively by Bonny and Blithe.

Inspired by the charming designs of the 1950s, each Princess piece is crafted in Stoke-on-Trent, the historic heart of the Potteries in England. Using time-honoured techniques, the designs are applied by skilled craftspeople to fine English bone china and the edges hand-finished with lustrous real gold, creating heirlooms of the future.
